    > Hey Dave, Obviously your 65 does not have the original T-10 aluminum case transmission. If it does here is something to practice you may not know about. When they get worn, they will jump out of second gear when you back off. I autocrossed many years holding the transmission in second. Now the point is, if you are pointing to the passing side with one hand and holding it in gear with the other, how are you steering? Make sure you have a lot of room to practice.
