Re: Low gloss black paint for engine compartment The original paint on my 66 dash was in such good shape that I didn't repaint it when restoring the car. I only had to touch-up a small area under the ignition switch where keys had rubbed over the years and used Krylon semi flat black. While very close it was not an exact match, the Krylon was slightly "less black". Fortunately this is a pretty inconspicuous area but would have definitely been noticeable in a more obvious place.
