> Good comments. I am not sure about the 66 ten spokes, but the 67 - 68 15" ten spokes have a positive offset. The Magnums have a 0 offset which can mean 1/4" to 1/2" less backspace than the ten spokes. How about someone out there with the 14" Magnums? > From: DMGT350@aol.com > Date: 2005/04/23 Sat PM 10:00:35 EDT > To: lmathias@bellsouth.net, ianroberts037@sbcglobal.net, > shelbymustang@carmemories.com > Subject: Re: tire choice > > I'm running BFG 235/60R14 TA's on my 66 with the original 10-spokes and there > are no clearance problems with the upper ball joints. I have a set of N.O.S. 14" painted Magnums for my 66 Shelby, and the backspacing is 3 7/8" and I am running a 205/70/14 tire, which is the closest size to the original Blue Streaks. No clearance issues. Hope this helps. I concur w/Ken. 205/70x14 is the closest equiv. to the original tire profile. I'm running that size on 6S1467 w/orig. 10-spokes.
