  1. Since you mention it, and it is the site of SAAC 31. This is a great web
    site about the history of VIR. Lots of great historic pictures of Shelby
    products on the race track.

    attention to the winner of the first feature race at VIR.

    VIR is an important track in the Shelby saga. It is also a beautiful
    facility. I feel so fortunate having such a great place being the track
    nearest my home.

    Here's an idea for Rick and the SAAC folks: Why not commemorate each great
    track that Shelby won an important race at in the order that they raced
    them? I think they won their first race in Oct. '62 at Riverside in CA,
    and raced around the country all through 1963, 1964 and 1965. Each SAAC
    convention could have a theme dedicated to the effort that won that
    particular race.

    Pocono
    Nelson Ledges
    Sebring
    Daytona
    Talledega
