Since you mention it, and it is the site of SAAC 31. This is a great web site about the history of VIR. Lots of great historic pictures of Shelby products on the race track. http://virhistory.com Look through the pictures and pay special attention to the winner of the first feature race at VIR. http://virhistory.com/vir/57-aug/index.htm http://virhistory.com/vir/57-aug/57-aug-news-38.html VIR is an important track in the Shelby saga. It is also a beautiful facility. I feel so fortunate having such a great place being the track nearest my home. Calvin http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZcalvin767 ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Here's an idea for Rick and the SAAC folks: Why not commemorate each great track that Shelby won an important race at in the order that they raced them? I think they won their first race in Oct. '62 at Riverside in CA, and raced around the country all through 1963, 1964 and 1965. Each SAAC convention could have a theme dedicated to the effort that won that particular race. Tracks I'd love to see future SAAC meets at: Pocono Nelson Ledges Sebring Daytona Talledega
