when SAAC 29 and 24 were held in Mich at MIS, the host hotel was 45 mins away, little longer if ya obeyed the speed limits . LOL....the drive time was not an impediment to the event. one hour is no big deal, not ideal, but not a deal breaker in my book. I enjoyed the drives to/from MIS. But then again, i just like to drive. Jim and all-I recommended VIR to Kopec a couple of years ago and those were his exact objections. I wonder what he's done to overcome them? There is no one hotel in Danville, VA big enuf to handle it. Closest is the Sheraton-Koury Center in Greensboro, about 1 hr. away. The BMW CCA is holding their OKTOBERFEST there this Sept. w/3 days of driving schools and autocross at VIR, Concours at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro but all other social events at the Sheraton.
