The VIN (FORD one) should be on both It should included the complete sequential number with out the Selby extension and the body type and engine code. For example car 8F03J123123 would be stamped as 8F123123 In most cases. Very similar to the "hidden/secert" VINs foudn on 71-73 Mustangs I can send pictures of originals if helpful. This practice started in the early 60's (very early Fords were registered by serial numbers on engines not frames) on high performance engines and manual trans. By 68 this practice was expanded to just about every engine and trans on Ford's due to a National anti auto thief requirement 4 speeds can be stamped on the flange (bottom) where the trans and the bellhousing comes together. Seen a few stamped on the bottom machine area but not most Hope this helps Jeff S -----Original Message----- From: Cevon Mclean <cmclean@rbhnrc.usda.gov> Sent: Jan 27, 2005 11:13 AM To: shelbymustang@carmemories.com Subject: Serial number location?68shelby Hey Guys..
