no official production plans/ intent has been announced by ford re the
roadster . autoweek some time ago said the roadster was in for a re-design,
yet the one shown at saac-29 in july 04 was the same one that had been
originally designed and displayed . i have not seen anything in print that
has confirmed any redesign of the roadster. officially the ford GT is just
that, a GT, NOT a gt40- they lost the rights to that name which is held by
gt40 after market supplier Safir in ohio. bill, motown

The GR-1 is definitely a hot car, and I hope in becomes a reality, however
I also recall seeing in person the new Shelby 2 seater Cobra, what ever
    happened with that car?
Besides at $200K for a GR-1, for the money, I'd rather have the new Ford
    GT 40.
