While this auction sale may have established a benchmark, I'd say it's only a
benchmark for sales to benefit charities; ie, where a (large) chunk of the
"price" is actually a charitable contribution (and thus a tax deduction for the
buyer). IOW, it's the same thing we saw when early examples of the GT ("40") &
/or the GT500 were sold in the same (fund-raising for a charity)
circumstances.

What'd be REALLY interesting to see is the documentation the seller's getting
that does the allocation between "charitable contribution" and "value of item
purchased", eh?
