I've read a lot of the old road tests from the magazines. I think the consensus is that the '65-6 350s weigh near 2800lbs at the curb. But, what about the '67-70 350s?? Some of the Shelby literature shows the '67 as "2800lbs", but I've yet to see a magazine road test with an actual scaled weight. And with the larger body after '66, I find it hard to believe that the '67 and '68 didn't gain at least 300lbs. How much weight was gained and who has scaled their car to confirm this?? Thanks, Lashdeep
I recall having my 67 GT350 weighed at a dragstrip about 12 years ago. 3450 pounds with 200 pound me sitting in it on the roll-on scale. So, that makes it about 3250 pounds. 289, 4speed, non-air cond. car.
I drove the 45 miles one way to the strip, so, likley 3/4 of a tank. Stock at that time. Nothing to brag about time wise. The car has run a 14.56 at US 30 Garty IN) dragstrip back in 1972 or 1972. Open headers, some head work, 750 CFM carb. Me, rowing the shifter.
