In the automotive writing world there are few more entertainting than Joe Scalzo who most recently wrote City of Speed about all the car racing people in LA in the Fifties. Scalzo is a recognized expert in Indy cars.

Now he's writing a new book that will have a section on Shelby, but how much I don't know. I was e-mailed a few pages of the book, a section on Mickey Thompson and that's pretty good reading so I have to hope his coverage of Shelby is equally illuminating. Scalzo used to hang around Shelby's shop in the Sixties so presumably he has some good inside stuff that you wouldn't know unless you'd been there at the time.
As soon as I find out the title and publication date, I'll post it.
Scalzo is part of what I call the new literary "wing" to the car writing world along with Tom Cotter and his Cobra in the Barn series, so I hope sales in this genre justify publishers green-lighting more such works.
