As many already know, the rear tire size for the Shelby Series 1
{P315/40 ZR18} is no longer produced by Goodyear or any other vendor I can find :grrr:. Now I looking for tires which will fit the original Series 1 wheels.

    Here is the original information:
    Front: 265/40 ZR18 Diameter: 26" Rim width ~ 10.5"
    Rear: 315/40 ZR18 Diameter: 28" Rim width ~ 12.5"

I searched quite a bit and found some Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's which may fit the bill:
    Front: 275/35 R18 Diameter: 25.55" Rim width range: 9-11"
    Rear: 335/30 ZR18 Diameter: 25.94" Rim width range: 11.5"-12.5"

It looks like it could fit. My question is has anyone tried these and how did it work out? If you found another solution which worked, please post!!

I'm in the same boat that 335 30 18 looks like the closest thing. I really hate to go with a tire 2" shorter. I feel it's already geared too low my car is supercharged with the x50 package with a shorter tire 1st and 2nd gear will be useless.

    CSX204,

I decided to go ahead with the Michelins. They fit just fine and from the back the tires look great. Handling is super, probably because my old GY F1 Eagle tires were so bad. View from the side is good but not great as you can see a bit more of a gap between the tires and the bodywork. Mind you I raised the car a bit to avoid crunching the nose when parking but I will lower it when I go to the track. Just finished driving my S1 to St. Pete for the IndyCar race and then back to Miami ~300miles each way. What I can say is the gearing in my view is not much affected and especially in 6th the car has gobs of torque. I won't say how fast I drove down Aligator Alley but if you said 140mph I might smile
