Shelby Mustang Email List ------------------------------ The Mustang/Shelby convertibles all used what they call a "wire on" that was wired to the third bow. It is also called a welt and is the strap that goes across the top and has a stainless steel tip at each end. The originals are a 2 piece plastic (NPD has a great picture on page 37) while all the replacements are a fold over vinyl. NPD have been out of stock for over a year now. I have a white top so need a white one but have exhausted all my sources to find one. The Ford part number is C9ZZ7651416AW1, but I suspect it was used on Cougars and most Ford products from late 1966 to 1973. Anyone got any magic suppliers, or a coil of this stuff in their basement and would sell me 6 feet? Any help appreciated.
