    Shelby Mustang Email List
    ------------------------------
I was at cruise night in Canton, Ga. last nite and a guy was there in a new, red, GT-500 coupe. Everybody looked at it and I can't decide if I really want one. Visually it is less of an impact than I had imagined. The specs look good, but is it like the 96 Cobra I bought on specifications and kept one year because of dismal track performance? Guess I'll have to wait to take one on the track to decide. That's OK, I'm not trying real hard to sell my 65 GT convertible, yet.

I really like the new Shelby, yes it is not much more then a mustang on the
    outside but is still cool.
I think it may be worth the money (bairly) they are asking, but when you put
the dealer markup into the deal it is a no sale for me.
I am currently looking to buy a new f150 and have been visiting some
dealers. one dealer told me that they are accepting bids over $30000 + MSRP for the
one they have on the way. I told them good luck, not me.

    Bob,

My local dealer has one coming to my spec, but he knows full well that I'll
only buy at list or less. If he can get more elsewhere, more power to him.
Luckily, he's a small, non-SVT dealer, so I'm hoping that his car will be late
enough to avoid the whole "premium" issue. I frankly don't think that's going
to last for long, definitely less than it did for the GT, given the
    anticipated production volume.

Bob, if you are going to tow a trailer with your new F-150, get the 5.4 Triton, trailer towing and the lower axle ratio. I can pull an open lightweight steel trailer with my 05 and 4.6. Anything with more weight or mass and it would be too long getting up to speed. Just trying to help. SEE Y'ALL Lee>

the prices on the GTs have really dropped. there are people out there that
still think they can get the big money for them but that time has past. in my
recent search for a ford truck I was also asking about the GT for the fun of
it. one dealer close to me just sold the one on their lot for MSRP. another
one just sold for 7K over MSRP. on the other end I found a dealer asking 350K,
one asking 260K and another asking 200K for a used one. as far as I have
heard, there are about half of the cars made still unsold. I know that some of
them are dealers that want to keep them for display, promotion, or for
themselves. but I think others are just hanging onto the dream. one dealer told me
that the one they sold they had to get from another dealer who made 4K on them
by selling the car at 10K under invoice. that would indicate there is about
10K of markup between the invoice and the MSRP and another 14 K in holdback.
and last I heard, the GT is not open for factory incentives
