TheCarSource.com Shelby Mustang List ------------------------------------ Sitting here in my office thinking about Shelby GT's instead of doing my work. Ok I have another question for you. On ShelbyAutos.com, Boylan, the new Prez, was quoted as saying everyone there is happy to be working on the new version of the Shelby GT Mustangs. Sounds to me like this 2007 version is going to continue into maybe 2008 and on. What do you as a classic Shelby Mustang owner think of this? My opinion: Go for it Amy! CSI needs to make a profit and I like the new Mustangs. I can see one of those in my garage right next to my 68 GT350. I would like to have a red one with white stripes but black works. And put the Cobra back on the car. TheCarSource.com Shelby Mustang List ------------------------------------ If anybody has time to check out the Mustang Source at http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs Amy B. President of Shelby Autos posts on the Shelby GT almost on a daily basis answering questions. Some of the highlights from the forum stuck together below.... Hey maybe even a Shelby installed supercharger! Lol, sorry, I am infavor of the 2 color option as well. Here are my reasons, not in order of importance. - I think it will ad value to the cars - I think it will be more distinct and easier to spot as "real" - It will be easier and help us make more if I only paint 2 colors and the scoop is gel coated. - Shelby's have always been limited to a few colors. - I can't use blue and white as I have other plans for it Originally Posted by wildcat Thanks so much for spending the time to answer our questions, AmyB. From what I've gathered, the following upgrades will be available on the Shelby GT: 1) Supercharger 2) the GT-H style hood I was wondering about four other things as well: 1) Is a rear spoiler option available? 2) Is there an "interior upgrade" option (like the "interior upgrade" on the stock GT -- maybe when ordered from Ford by my dealer)? 3) Will all 10,000 of the cars be 2007 models, or will the production run 2007 and 2008 (not sure what your capicity is for turning these out)? 4) Since the cars will be in Vegas, can we contact you to make arrangements for a Carroll Shelby Signature on the passenger side dash (a la GT-Hertz) while it's there if we send the $200 to his charity? (that would be easier than mailing back a disassembled piece for the signature later!) Thanks again so much for all the feedback. All of us on this site sure appreciate it. I can't wait for this car! do my best to answer.... The rear spoiler I believe is an option, I don't have the final, and it is a Ford part, but I believe it will be. Yes, on the interior I think the number will be less then 10K and they will be 07's. We are talking abot adding 08 , so that would be extra and above the 07 number On the signature, that is a good question. I will check, but it depends on turnaround time and Carroll's schedule. I will let you know. Amy Originally Posted by mark1 I think alot of us feel the same way you do. You asked some good questions. It would be nice to know WHEN we could expect answers, if the actual answers to these questions can't be provided yet? My questions: 1) When will order guides be available? 2) When will pricing be announced? 3) When will order banks be opened? My appologies, these are questions for Ford, I am unable to answer these. Amy Hi Bullitt, see my responses below, will do my best to answer... Amy Which parts of the Shelby GT are assembled by Ford and which are by Shelby Autos? >> If the cars arrive like the Gt-H, then the cars will come as stock Mustang Gt's. We did all the removal of parts and all install of parts. Do the calibration. We then paint all the exterior parts, and install all the parts. we then run it thru QA, test drive it near the track, and buff it out. It then gets striped. Some of the above not exactly in the right order and I might have missed something, but my point was we do the whole car. The process of distribution, is it controlled by Ford Motor Company or by Shelby Autos? >> The distribution will be thru Ford dealers and manged thru Ford Are there any provisions set by Shelby Autos to regulate or prevent dealer AMVs? > I dont know anyone who can do that, it's called free enterprise, I ghad talked to Ford about this in the past, not sure there is anything that can or will be done Does Shelby Autos have the option to deal directly with customers as it does with other models? >> Not on this Shelby GT. We did deal with Hertz on the GT-H Does the new Ford 60,000 power train warranty apply to the Shelby GT? >> good question, I can check, I am on my way to detroit now....I will ask Is a spec sheet available? - What are the details on the brakes? Rotors, pistons? >> still working on this right now. But we will have shelby upgrades availaable if someone wants more then what is offerred -So it says it has a shorter rear end ratio.. what gearset, 3.55, 3.73's or heaven forbid, 4.10's??? -- Scothew >> The Gt-H had a 3:55, we are looking at the 3:73, I will tell you we have a manual with 4:10 and it is not what I would pick. I think 3:73 is better, if we can do that. the 3:55 is a great ride and quick as well AMy PS- will have more when We finalize, thanks Tom Casperson --------------------------------- Get your email and more, right on the new Yahoo.com _______________________________________________ ShelbyMustang mailing list Send email to ShelbyMustang (AT) thecarsource (DOT) com Membership Administration http://thecarsource.com/mailman/listinfo/shelbymustang_thecarsource.com Group Web Page http://www.thecarsource.com/shelbymustang
