TheCarSource.com Shelby Mustang List ------------------------------------ I'll take Stan's 95 Cobra R....it's less antiqueified than a GT 350 R replica...plus it's real. Not a long term collectors item here, just race the wheels off it, keep the original parts and restore it one day. That theory worked with 071, now look what an old autocross car is worth, right Stan? As for which one to buy as a future high dollar collectors item, I agree the new ones will appreciate too slowly to make any money before I die. I would like to have a GT 500, the biggest motor, most horsepower, most gears and blessed by the man. Maybe someday when they are depreciated down to everyman's price range. But again, drive it now and restore it later. That way if it does not appreciate soon enough, you will have some great memories to keep you warm in the off season. Who wants to bet the next hot rod Mustang will be a Boss 302? They already have the boy racer / man racer chassis and the 4.6 cammer. engine.....a natural. Will they come in Grabber colors? TheCarSource.com Shelby Mustang List ------------------------------------ I thought it was a real deal when one of the cobra R cars came up on ebay and it was one that was raced. If I recall it went about 40K. Think about it, what is more valuable a Shelby or a Shelby with a true race past. buy it cheap, race it for fun, let your kids sell it for profit (because I aint cutting loose of anything) bob _______________________________________________ ShelbyMustang mailing list Send email to ShelbyMustang (AT) thecarsource (DOT) com Membership Administration http://thecarsource.com/mailman/listinfo/shelbymustang_thecarsource.com Group Web Page http://www.thecarsource.com/shelbymustang

The thing that bothered me about it was the amount of "unobtanium" parts that could get broken in enthusiastic use. BUT...put in a crate motor (and other drive train parts, if ya must), run it HARD, and still have your "#'s matching" bequest to the kids, eh? Dammit...wish I'd thought about that more before selling mine....
