it seems like a fairly complete project vehicle. it will be interesting to see where the Auction ends at. it is in obvious need of disassembly (again) and a Rotissierie re do. I think it will sell for what is referred to as "Stupid" money. which equates to "It would be cheaper to buy one finished". my Auction prediction : $85,000-100,000 Dollars.

Looks just like the kind of project I was looking for. With 5 days left and it's already at 48k I don't think it will ever see the inside of my shop. I think it may hit $80k. Yesterday I thought maybe 60. Can't wait till Monday.

$71,100 as crazy as this would have sounded a couple of years ago, I kind of thought it would go into the 80,000's.

Wow! I figured $50K tops for a car with stories. This car has to be $60 to $70K away from being driven. This points to values at $130 to $150K for done 66. Hey, wait that's kinda where they are now:blink: Any predictions for the future values? Have a nice day while we all make money sitting on our rear staring at our Shelbys.

I remember when a 66 GT-350H car was for sale here for 20K with a wounded motor. (Guy's wife overwound it and bent some valves) The guy put the 20K price tag on it and sat on the car for two years before someone bought it.

I know of a '67 GT-500 that has been sitting in a barn for the last 15 years. The body is OK, no rust but the interior is completely destroyed by mice. The owners want 150K for it.

I had a guy offer me $70k for my '66 in Tulsa at Mid-America a couple years ago. I told him it would take at least $75k for me to consider selling! I bet he is kicking himself now and I am extremely happy he was not willing to go higher. It is amazing to me that I bought mine in '98 for $17k and it was in similar shape to this car!

See the auction results suprised me. I recently purchased my father's 66 GT350 (he's the original owner) with the intention of tinkering with it over the next few years and eventually selling it. It is sort of my "401K" since I am self employed. The car is a good driver, was repainted back in the early 80's, but never really driven much, say 200 miles in the last 25 years. It does have a little rust on the driver's floorpan, and needs some rechroming here and there but in my opinion (and you can see for yourself in my posted pics) my 66 is in WAY better condition. So I am VERY content sitting here making money staring at my Shelby.[/I][/B]

Surprise surprise!! the buying public seems to be wising up a little!! I think the seller handled himself well throughout the auction and got an outstanding number for a Project car of that caliber. and the Buyer did well for himself and must be happy or they would not have bid that number in the first place. Good for all involved.
