Anybody know what the official MSRP of the GT500 is? Anybody else not care for the hood and front-end styling of this car? I just don't like it too much. What I do like is the GT-H styling - alot! That CS6 suspension drop, hood and facia look awesome with the retro (circa '66) grille! So the C6 conversion appears to cost mid teens for just the parts. Once you figure install, that just has to easily exceed the GT500 MSRP. I don't get it. Why would anybody want this? Also, you still have cheap vinyl stripes and graphics in the end. What!?!? Does the GT500 come with factory painted and cleared lemans stripes? I really think that the C6 should be dropped or significantly reduced in price and make room for a GT350! I think Ford and Shelby would have no problem producing the GT-H styling and minor performance upgrade package for the mass public and pricing it between the GT and GT500. I wonder if they have plans to do this once the new Hertz program is over. If not, they should!!
The official MSRP of the GT500 still has not been released. I do not care for the hood on the GT500 but the rest of the front end style is good. Very muscular looking to me. I really like the GT-H grille. I hope Shelby rethinks the grille for the CS6 and do some similar retro look. The CS6 is more appealing to me than the GT500 mainly because it would be a great daily driver. The GT500 would be too thirsty for my 120 mile commute. A GT-H would be a good value. It would probably be priced below the CS6. Those stripes on the GT500 are also vinyl. If dealers are gonna demand $10k or more over MSRP, they should at least paint the stripes. robin
Ok, so the CS6 kit alone costs $14999.00. Add the MSRP of $19,800 for the V6 Mustang, and you pay $34,700. You expect the GT500 MSRP to be lower than that? For some perspective, the GTO costs $31,290, a Charger R/T costs $29,720, and a Subaru WRX STI is $33,620. That is what the CS6 is up against. Because with its +20" wheels and exagerated (I agree, ugly) vinyl graphics, its targeted at me, and my peers. Us car driving college kids who drive you guys nuts when we speed, do stoplight drags, and just gennerally act like you did when you were our age. Sorry about the rant, I just like this car. jim
The $35K you added up does not include any installation. It also doesn't include paint for the hood, facia, scoops, etc. You should expect to pay plenty in body work and machine work to get all that work done. $80-100 / hr can only go so far. I also like the C6 and the idea of having a lightweight 6 that beats up on GTs. I just can't justify the price.
I believe the CS6 is sold out right now. So don't worry about that and keep yours eyes open if you want something a little different. You'll probably see a GT350 and a GT350 R very soon. Just wait for the details... Randall
Touche. Just a little thing I noticed though, if you buy each item seperately, instead of getting the full kit, it only costs $12,582, which brings the total down to 3gs. So what does our $3,000 get us when we buy the full kit? jim
Sold Out! I thought they were still in prototype stage. What is this about a GT350? Can you add anything to the rumor mill? The full kit includes the interior upgrades and a certificate of authenticity. Cost of installation including painting of new body parts is expected to be about $3K. robin
Well the CS6 may or may not be "sold out" but from what I have heard from Carroll, they have a huge number of orders and the capacity to make only so many. Things can change, maybe they will increase capacity, who knows.
Personally I hope the CS6 stays. With gas about $3 a gallon, a V6 muscle car would hit the spot right now. jim
