Correct, one of 14 that were on that train.
I have other info from years ago in my notebook showing the previous owner prior to it's current, how should I describe it...Restoration?

I've seen this car up for sale before. I don't remember if it was on ebay or not previously, but it's hard to forget an original car that is trying to resemble a car that's trying to resemble the original...

I believe they've lowered their expectations, or corrected their price to match the market conditions... however you want to look at it, I believe the price is lower than I remember it from before, but I could be confused. I'm already confused by an original car trying to resemble... oh, nevermind!

 

Interesting history. I was going to do a story on this crash for my website, but I was unable to find any news accounts. I guess the railroad ended up eating a few of the cars. I would like the see the history after it left their posession.

 

There are a few of "these cars" around. This one has been for sale a couple of times and has been - most recently - on NORCAL sites ford sale section I believe.

Similar thing happened a few years back with a car load or two of new Saturns The cars were donated to a couple of large auto extrication classes

 

Hi to all! This car may be listed as sold by/to S.P. Rail because it never was delivered to a dealership.Apparently after the derailment occured all of the damaged cars became the property of the rail company and were disposed of or sold directly through them.This would be standard practise for an insurance settlement.I wonder what the appraised value was?... imagine bidding on a salvage car that has no miles on it? Does anyone know who the insurance agency was?

 

the car has been listed on cars on line for a couple of years. Restored by a Mustang shop in Kansas(?). Non original block & trans, wrong steering wheel. As far as the color and wheels go , may I say , money poorly spent. The blues for 67 were nice colors and the wheels and steering wheel are available. The car is not worth $ 95000 as it now is .jmo.
