Here is a picture of my trunk including an original speedway
350 I bought at the Texas Nationals many years ago. The label
is taken from a repo tire. I bought 4 repo tires in 1997 and
brought them as luggage to Sweden. Next year I carried them
back as the rubber compound were falling apart. Kelsey exchanged them
against the 5 blue dots I have on my 65 now. Had to pay an additional
    $1000 though.

Thanks. How do they jack and lug wrench go underneath the tire? Does the thread go through lug underneath?

The jacking instructions area a good guide for the placement of the standard jack and wrench. Basically on the drivers side of the spare under the edge (raises the spare up to about level)

Our 1967 GT500 direct from Shelby American Enterprises has a 10 Spoke Speedway 350 Goodyear Tire. Raised white letters. Hope this helps. Actually we still have it in our trunk.

The same wheel on the ground is the same as the trunk. large letter tires were used up to around 67 #1100 then small letter through the end of 67 production . Small letter tires in 68 then a short period when the large letter came back again then after April 1968 the E 70 15 black wall polyglas was used as the standard tire to the end of 68 production the same tire was used through april of 1969 .After April 1969 the F 60 15 was the standard tire. The space saver came into use in 1969 due to the size of the F60 15 used on the Shelby and Boss cars. The F60 would not fit in the trunk inflated. The E70 is tough to fit in the trunk inflated, the F60 was next to impossible.Bob

I do not have the jacking instructions on the trunk lid (would love to find a duplicate and put it in there). The owners manual refers to a car with steel wheels.

I see how the spare fits in, I am trying to figure out how to secure the Jack and Lug wrench so they do not vibrate or rattle.

If you take the stock Mustang wrench that operates the jack - extend the jack a bit, insert the handle (folded over) between the base of the back and the center section (where the threaded rod is) then by hand. screw the jack down to the point where it holds the handle in place.

Then place the jack (on its side as shown in the instructions) between the spare and the trunk mat (thats one of the reasons for the masonite board under the mat in that location) The pressure applied when the spare is tightened down will pinch the jack between the spare and the floor.

    Hope this helps
