I'm looking to upgrade my SC ('07 GT500) and my Ford dealer 'strongly suggests' going with Ford Racing ($5,600+$1,400 for labor) instead of KB. I understand that the HP gains on the FRSC is 105hp, whereas KB is dependent on which 'stage' of mods I choose. I am leaning toward the FRSC because of the factory and dealer warranty, but would like to hear from more knowledgable members on the pros and cons here before taking the plunge. Thanks for your help. - BORG
The Ford Racing TVS will fit under your stock hood as will the new Whipple 2.9 supercharger. You can also add a smaller upper pulley to the TVS and 2.9 Whipple and a lower 10% overdrive. The Kenny Bell and Whipple 3.4 you have to either change your hood or cut/notch the underside. I don't like the look of the Kenny Bell either (personal preference). I think I'd go with the Ford Racing TVS and put a smaller upper pulley on it.....Check out Evolution's wesite on superchargers as over on Team Shelby they seem to be the leading suppler..... http://www.evoperform.com/shop/inde...=11_77&zenid=120fcb4755bc074e0ca9a9d34bb7c1ba By the way I'm just running Evolution's Stage II on the stock supercharger ($ 1,150), which is a smaller pulley, idler, cold air intake and tune and the car makes 550 HP at the rear wheels......
I was told if I go over 525 RWHP - I am "Asking For" the Connecting Rods to blow out ...... just a matter of time; unless I have them replaced ahead of time. Any thoughts..... GOD bless 7ShelbyGT
