Does anybody know if it is possible to rewire the TCS button to have the default be off instead of on? And how to go about doing it. Thanks

There is no way to reverse the tcs button through the programming. You can only permanently turn the traction control off that way or leave it as is. I have heard of people using a small battery pack that keeps power to the tcs button thus holding it in the off position even when the vehicle is started and shut off. I am not sure if this device works on the newer cars, but here is a listing for one that works on 2004 Mustangs. Maybe you could call them and ask.

A few years ago someone talked about reversing the TCS sw on the "Retro Birds" ('02-'05 T-Birds) on the
http://thunderbirdnest.com/ forum, but I never did try to reverse mine and have no idea how it was done (I gathered it was by wiring not programming) and don't know how similar the GT500 TCS is to the Retro Birds.

The only times I turn mine off is when traveling on the Interstates. The car (T-Bird) gets 25mpg traveling 80mph on the Interstates.
