Want to know more about Carroll's days behind the wheel or curious about how he got into raising African Tuli livestock??? Whether it's the early development of the Cobra or trackside at Le Mans, whatever your curiosities, submit your questions in this forum. I have not yet decided how I will determine which questions will be asked (if many are submitted) or how often I will get them answered, but we'll see how it goes. RS
Audio Stream Q & A I may try to ask him questions via telephone and record the answers but have not figured out the best way to do this yet. This would be the easiest thing to do but may require too much bandwidth if the streams get a lot of hits. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks, RS

I have a question I would like to ask Mr.Shelby. Last year (Oct 2003) during the Unique Performance car show, I was fortunate enough to get to speak with the man while he was signing the console light cover for my GLHS. He stated to me that he was going to do something for us Shelby Dodge owners by reproducing the 16V head that he has on his 86 GLHS. Not the Lotus head mind you but the much sought after Hans Herman head design. Needless to say I was very excited about this, but I haven't heard if this project is currently underway or if it even has started yet. Does anyone have a tidbit of info on this, or is it top secret within the Shelby compound?? I would love to here it well underway....lol
doesnt his glh make sumthin like 500 hp at the wheels? i think i read that sum where.... if i had the money i d try to do a re-cast of the 8v and change sum stuff..
There was an ad here in the local paper about how Carroll helped his daughter start a small restaurant called Chili`s. They went into a good bit of detail and I was wondering if it was named after his famous chili and if it`s his recipe?
The restaurant, "Chili's" was started by Carroll's daughter's husband Larry Lavine. Carroll and a number of other people helped out at the time but it was ultimately Larry getting the job done. He later sold to Brinker (mid 80's)and now it is the Chili's you know today with something like 5000 restaurants nationwide. Carroll Shelby's chili is another deal completely. Interesting story though...and even more interesting stories from the Chili Cookoffs. Read more about it here. http://www.carrollshelby.com/chili.htm# RS
Has anyone heard any news of Carroll working on the 16V head for the turbo era cars?? Also I would love to see some current pictures of his Omni, back in '03 he had to rebuild the head and in '04 I heard he found a tranny that would standup to the motor he has in it. The only photo I've ever seen of the Ultimate Omni GLHS is from a magazine from the 80's. Come on Randall, do us a favor, and do a couple laps around that thing with a digi camera when you see it next.... ;-)
Unfortunately, I am in Texas and I would bet the car is in L.A. Maybe Las Vegas. Of course, he's got stuff spread all across the US so who knows where to look. I'll guarantee you a few pictures if I ever see it though! RS
