I bought my 07 Shelby this past May with 8,000 miles on it. I knew it had stripe and hood scoop issues before it even left the lot. Well, it took five months just too get the parts from Shelby! What a joke. My car has been at the dealer now for over a month. The scoop came cracked even though the box wasn't damaged. Now waiting on another scoop. Another four months? I really like this car but if I knew it would be this much of a headache just too get parts and simple warranty work done I would have bought something else. It doesn't help that the dealer is well over an hr. away from me and I have no idea if my car is being taken care of and is well protected.
I'm sure I'm like most other Shelby owners, I don't ever park my car in a parking lot where some careless fool can ding, scratch or bang it up. My Shelby gets garaged every night under lock, key and security camera's. I'm picturing it right now sittin in the middle of a body shop parking lot (outside of course) 6 inches away from another car with an inch of dirt on it. Something just ain't right here. Sorry to vent guys, I gotta get it off my chest.

I feel your anguish...if the shoe was on someone else's foot then they would be screaming, demanding action.

why don't you to get the car and tell them to call you when the parts are ready?

The info I got from the Team Shelby site is it took SAI a long time to develope the new fiberglass scoop and get all the gov't testing done that is required. All the guys are super happy with the quality of the new scoop. Hang in there... I think it will be worth the hassle.

i took mine in a month ago and showed them the hood scoop warp and teh pint bubbling around the hood pins.

they decided to repaint the hood, replace the scoop and restripe the hood.
i just dropped it off yesterday after they called about the scoop being in.

i fear the rest of the stripes wont match now...what do you think my best course would be if that is the case?

well, i got a call today from the dealer.
i was afraid i would have to fight with them to get the stripes done. but, he called to let me know he was already pursuing that with Shelby...
and i wont have the car back by Christmas...

so...at least it will match and should have all new paint and stripes at 20K miles.
    hopefully.

I finally got my car back today! Two months! The new stripes look much better, though there are a few small bubbles the body shop owner said will go away? HMMM..... The scoop is so much better now.

The small bubbles should go away if you park it outside in the Sun.

well, that set of stripes didnt last long.

    sent it to Deland Ford
had teh front, hood, roof, trunk, rear
all painted, all the stripes except the lower side stripes are painted. looks lightyears better.
i also had a set of hash stripes painted on.
    they look sweet.
also installed SilverHorse louvers and a GT500KR rear spoiler.
    car looks so aggressive now

Sounds great! Can you post a photo or two? I would like to see the changes. By the way, if you don't mind my asking, how much did it cost to have the stripes painted?
