Talking about an '87 I was replacing my e-brake cable this weekend, and as I was down close to the car, I noticed that there was red underneath the blue paint for the little stipe that runs the length of the body. Whats up with that, did I get some scavenged '89 parts? Thanks.
I had that too Are you talking about underneath the blue pin strip on the moldings. THat's factory for some reason it red
All 87 CSX's that I've seen are this way, from the factory (Dodge) they were built as Shadow ES models and got the molding with a red pinstripe. I'm sure it was easier for the Whittier team to cover the red stripe with blue tape than to replace the molding. You can get replacement blue pinstipe material from Dave at Positive Impressions. www.unleashedbyshelby.com
Out of curiosity, I've heard both that they were Shadow ES's and that they were base Shadows with only the turbo option when they left Dodge. What is the truth/general opinion?
The 87 CSX and I believe the 88 CSX-T were built on the Shadow ES. The 89 CSX was built on the base Shadow. robin
