Subject: Ford GT & Shelby 2007 Pricing Shelby Group, Dealer Markups, hits a painful nerve, that runs from the brain to the wallet. There are two issues, that have been discussed. 1/ Dealers markup, that take advantage of demand for cars, helping to offset expenses and increase profits. 2/ "Reported" Dealers, who quote or obligate at one price and then demand more later at closing. MOST Ford Dealers are not out to screw their customers. Just like all businesses, there are exceptions. Some exceptionally good or bad. Cases of Ford Dealerships, making a contract and then demanding more "bonus" money is not the normal. These guys, will be out of business, quickly! This morning, I spoke with Mr. Jacky Jones, who is well recognized for supporting the Mustang & Shelby Car Shows in the South Eastern US. His Ford Dealers, will sell a 2007 Ford Shelby 500 for STICKER price to dedicated Mustang buyers. BUT.. he is cautious, in advertising the availability of cars, since his allotment will be only about ten 2007 Shelby's. He's also concerned, about buyers who would take advantage of the hype and then resell the car at auction, making more money, then his dealerships, which have all the over-head to pay. It's nice to FORD, has products that would be considered, to have such interest. I'm tired of hearing about Corvette's Z-06.
