    Did not know they raced against each other. Did the GT350 have a
    chance against the light weight GT40´s???

    There is a great DVD that came with a booklet where there is some of this History. I collect vintage slot cars and I bought a GT40 that came with a DVD, link below. In the booklet it says that in the

    "1967 24 Hours of Daytona"

    "The race again featured two cars driven by all-woman teams, including a Mustang driven by Janet Guthrie, Anita Taylor Matthews, and Smokey Drolet." They finished 20th. Guthrie said the 65GT350 had been a street car until the week before and was literally taken off the street and driven in the race with some modifications.

    I wouldn't say "thin" ... more 'normal", as opposed to the grossly overweight examples of humanity seen today.

    I was recently in your wonderful country for 5 weeks and it was quite noticable the number of hugely overweight people I saw around Minneapolis, but interestingly there seemed to be fewer in San Francisco.

    But according to statistics, apparently Australia is worse than the US per head of population.

    A bit off topic from the conversation regarding cool vintage images, but an interesting conversation nonetheless. Clearly a sign of diet & lifestyle. Plus factor in walking vs driving cities and there you have it. Having the pleasure of living in both (driving: Dallas, LA) (walking: NYC, Tokyo, London.) It became clear that the main factor is how much exercise one gets for the caloric intake.

    Being a manufacturer of Shelby Heritage apparel and trying to be faithful to the original designs and cuts, we find ourselves in conflict with what is a true S-XL with what China and Walmart say is a S-XL.

    I lived in Hong Kong for a year. I am 6'6" 240lbs. When I got on the elevator the natives got restless in my office building. There was room for 4-5 of them or me. The alarm would sound for it being too heavy and the doors would not shut. They all would look at me and I would look straight ahead eating my Pizza Hut meat lovers slices. I have enough duck tongues and eels to last a life time!!

    The cars got bigger and heavier too. Look what our current vehicles weigh after 40 years.:cool:

    I am actually a board member of a newer company that is working with several auto manufacturers on replacing solid stainless steel with an equally safe stainless steel hybrid that weighs 70% less for the same size and thickness. We have met with everyone in Detroit and are off to Japan next month. Great timing for this.
