I have had Optima, Interstate, Die Hard and others but I don't necessarily have a favorite. I am betting that many of you do have a favorite or have at least had better experiences with certain brands. So, what battery do you recommend?

Always have had good luck w/DieHards, but having toured the Johnson Control's battery plant in Milwaukee, every brand you can think of is made there, just different lables and plastic casings, so I don't think it matters!

In the northern climes, I just look for the largest Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) rating. I think the next time I am shopping for a battery, I am going to try one of the new gel type batteries.

I prefer to stick with the Motorcraft brand from a local distributor. That way if you do some basic car shows, you take less flack than you would say with a JC Penney's battery in the engine compartment. Same goes for Motorcraft oil filters, I prefer these FL-1A's & 820S's 100 times over the cheap Frams.
